History of Seton

Seton High School was founded in 1854 as Mount St. Vincent Academy (Cedar Grove) and on September 12, 1927, Cedar Grove reopened its doors as Seton High School. Seton has maintained a strong commitment to academic excellence by offering a comprehensive curriculum to the young women of Western Cincinnati.

Sponsored by the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati, Seton has always provided the highest quality spiritual, academic, and social programs. Since its earliest days, Seton has been fully accredited by the North Central Association of Schools and Colleges and is an active member of the National Catholic Education Association.
