A Seton student is required to study three years of mathematics and may choose to further their studies for one more year.  They will begin with Algebra and Geometry and then proceed to Precalculus.  Advanced students will also have the opportunity to take three college-level math classes while at Seton:  AB Calculus, BC Calculus and AP Statistics.

Seton also offers the Honors Algebra I Enrichment Program for talented 8th grade mathematics students.  For further information about this program or if you have any questions about the mathematics program at Seton call Lois Childers at 471-2600, extension 150 or email her and she'll be happy to answer your questions.

Mrs. Lois Haneberg Childers
A 1977 graduate of Seton High School, Mrs. Childers has been teaching math at Seton High School since 1982. She currently teaches Advanced Placement AB, Advanced Placement BC Calculus, and  Honors Precalculus. She holds a bachelor's degree and a master's degree from Northern Kentucky University. Her other roles at Seton are as Mathematics department chairperson and Edline coordinator. She has been a reader of the AP Calculus exam for the College Board since 2004.

Mr. Scott Brauch
Mr. Brauch has been teaching math at Seton since 1997.  Prior to coming to Seton he spent 9 years as a math teacher at St. Henry District High School in Elsmere, Kentucky. 
A 1975 graduate of Elder High School, Mr. Brauch earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Northern Kentucky University and a Master of Arts degree in School Counseling from Xavier University.  Currently Mr. Brauch teaches College Prep Algebra I, Honors Algebra I, Honors Algebra II, Algebra III/Trig and the Honors Algebra I Enrichment class which is offered to 8th grade students.  Outside of the classroom Mr. Brauch is actively involved in the Kairos Retreat Program here at Seton.  Mr. Brauch has four children and his wife, Rose Binder Brauch, is a 1976 Seton grad.

Ms. Theresa Ruprich 
Ms. Ruprich has been teaching at Seton since 1999. After graduating from Seton High School in 1995, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science and a concentration in secondary education from the College of Mount Saint Joseph and a Master of Science degree in Technology from Northern Kentucky University.  In addition to teaching College Prep Geometry, Honors Geometry, Precalculus and Algebra 2 Fundamentals, Ms. Ruprich is the Sophomore Class Moderator, Technology Team Member.  She has also taught a mathematics course at the College of Mount Saint Joseph for the past 3 years.

Mrs. Jennie Tettenhorst 
Mrs. Tettenhorst has been teaching at Seton since 1998.  After graduating from Seton High School in 1993, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics with a concentration in secondary education from the College of Mount Saint Joseph.  In addition to teaching  Algegra 1 , College Prep Algebra 2, Precalculus and SAT/ACT Prep Class, Mrs. Tettenhorst is actively involved in the Kairos Retreat Program here at Seton. 

Mrs. Mary Johnson
After graduating from Seton in 1998, Mrs. Johnson earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Ohio State University.  She worked in the business sector for four years before deciding to take mathematics classes at the University of Cincinnati, in order to earn a teaching license.  Currently she is attending the College of Mount St. Joseph to obtain a Master of Arts in Education, and is delighted to be teaching Algebra I Fundamentals and Plane Geometry at Seton. 

Sister Jeanine Marie Holthouse, SC

Sister Jeanine Marie has been teaching mathematics at Seton since 1982.   She earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, with minors in Biology and Health from the College of Mt. St. Joseph and a Master of Arts in Teaching Mathematics from the University of Detroit.  Before coming to Seton, she served as assistant principal and principal of Elizabeth Seton High School in South Holland, Illinois.  Sister Jeanine Marie  is the faculty representative to the Moms and Dads Club.
