Home | Academics | Academic Departments | Fine Arts Department Fine Arts Department Seton High School boasts a strong and rich tradition in the fine arts department. As ninth graders, students will need 1 full credit in fine arts. Students can choose from any number of courses including music, art, drama or dance. Many of the faculty members are Seton alumns and combined, have over 35 years of teaching experience. Faculty Members Ms. Maribeth Brown Samoya ’81 Ms. Samoya is chair of the Music Department. Currently, Ms. Samoya teaches Concert Choir classes and directs the Seton Vocal Ensemble as well as Seton-Elder Show Choir. She also is the music director for the Spring Musical. She holds a bachelor's degree from Northern Kentucky University. She can be seen performing with the Cincinnati Metropolitan Orchestra or with her band, The Tommy and Hub Band. Mrs. Karen Klug White ’92 Mrs. White currently teaches Music One/Freshmen Chorus classes. In addition, she directs the Freshmen Ensemble. Mrs. White holds a bachelor's degree from Xavier University and a master's degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. She can be seen singing with the Cincinnati Metropolitan Orchestra and subbing in numerous Churches around the west-side of Cincinnati. Mrs. White met her husband on the Seton stage over 15 years ago and when she is not singing or teaching, she spends time with her three children. Mrs. Laura Klein Mrs. Klein teaches Beginning Strings and is the conductor of The Seton Orchestra. Prior to joining the music faculty at Seton, Mrs. Klein taught Beginning Strings in the NKU Preparatory Department, where she also served as orchestral assistant to Prep Strings and Concert Strings. Mrs. Klein holds bachelor's degrees from Northern Kentucky University and Michigan State University and is an active member of the American String Teachers’ Association (ASTA) and Suzuki Association of the Americas (SAA). Mrs. Klein is an active violist/violinist and can be seen performing with the Cincinnati Metropolitan Orchestra, NKU Philharmonic Orchestra and The Toubee Quartet in addition to teaching in her private studio. Mrs. Michelle Klug Hillgrove '99 Mrs. Hillgrove is Seton's private voice instructor. Mrs. Hillgrove has been teaching voice and piano privately for the past five years, earning her bachelor's degree in Voice Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. During her college career she played the Mother and the Witch in the undergraduate production of Hansel and Gretel. She also appeared in the chorus of the graduate production of Hansel and Gretel and DreamWalker. Mrs. Hillgrove can be seen singing in various churches on the west side of Cincinnati and with the Cincinnati Metropolitan Orchestra. Margie (Meiners) Metz '94
Elizabeth Worley Ms. Worley is currently the dance instructor and choreograher at Seton. She holds an arts diploma from the School for Creative and Performing Arts with a major in dance and drama. She also has a Bachelor Fine Arts degree in Musical Theater from Northern Kentucky University and is currently a member of the Acting Intern Company at The Cincinnati Ensemble Theater.
