Community Service

Seton Students and Staff Participate in Mission Trip to South Dakota

Strength of Service
Giving back is an important part of the Seton leadership experience.  In fact, Seton requires each graduate to complete more than 85 hours of community service before she can receive her diploma.

Completing Community Service Hours
Students have a variety of opportunities to fulfill their service hours.  Young women who like to work with children can "adopt" younger classmates at West Side elementary schools.  While girls who like to work with their hands can contribute to Seton's third Habitat for Humanity project on Fyffe Road in Westwood.  Whatever a student's strength, she will learn how to use it to serve others!

Mission Trips
Mission trips are popular ways to engage in community service.  During the 2011 summer, students worked with children and repaired homes on the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota.  Later in the summer, other students visited Guatemala to work in gardens and built a chicken coop.  No matter how a student completes her service hours, Seton is confident she will carry the experience with her well after graduation.
