April is National Poetry Month and School Library Month as well.  A poem a day will be read on announcements, and student poetry will be featured at an event on Friday, April 23.

During the month of March, Women's History Month, the Library Board issued a Theme Challenge to the student body.  Each day a quotation or fact about women's history was read on announcements.  Students were challenged to identify the theme of each week's quotes and facts.  Winners for each week were chosen from among the correct entries.

The African-American Read In was held in the library on Monday, February 22 during all English classes.  Students and teachers shared their favorite stories and authors and celebrate the rich tradition of African-American writers.

Exam preparation was the theme of the January 11 after school event.  Teachers from every discipline were on hand to answer questions, review material and help students prepare for exams.  Relaxation and study tips were available, and healthy snacks were served.

Students celebrated the release of the movie New Moon at an after school party featuring special guests Edward and Jacob, trivia contests, t-shirt making and themed snacks.
