Seton High School is excited to announce Cortland Anderson as our new Varsity Dance Head Coach. Cortland has spent the last four years with the Seton Dance program – three years assisting on the JV team and one year as head coach of the Junior High team.
Cortland brings 15 years of competitive dance experience. Prior to joining the Seton program, Cortland taught and choreographed for teams and studios across Georgia, Kentucky and Ohio. She attended the University of Kentucky where she was a four-year member of the dance team, competing at UDA College Nationals in Pom and Hip Hop. In 2017, she represented the US National Team at the ICU Dance World Championships. She was also a four-year member of the McIntosh High School dance team, competing at UDA High School Nationals in Pom, Jazz and Kick. She began her dancing career in her youth, receiving classical training at Georgia Youth Ballet before going on to compete at regional competitions with Carla’s Dance Factory.
“I’m so excited to step into this role,” said Cortland. “I’ve been a part of this community going on five years now and been watching this program grow from the inside. I’m looking forward to building on the foundation that’s already been laid.”
Cortland will take the position following the retirement of Jill Lamey. “Seton Dance is grateful to Jill for the countless hours and dedication she has given to the program. Her leadership has helped build Seton Dance into one of the top programs in the nation and her impact will be felt for years to come,” said Seton High School Athletic Director Wendy Zureick Smith. “As we celebrate all that Jill has accomplished, we are excited to welcome Cortland. We look forward to the energy, experience and vision she will bring as she leads Seton Dance into its next chapter.”

Thank you to all of the U.S. veterans and family members of veterans who came to our annual oral history project day! 💚🇺🇸Juniors participated in small group discussions to learn about the experiences and sacrifices veterans and their families have made for our country. In preparation, students spent time in class to prepare specific questions for each special guest. The morning allowed students to build connections with our special guests to bring real life stories to the history they’re learning in class, which is an experience you can’t get from a book. Thanks to Mr. Jason Berling and our History Department for planning this event, and thank you to FOX19 for joining us! ...

Today was a day of reflection for Freshman and Sophomores at Seton.
Freshmen had a day focused on ways in which they can grow in many ways and incorporate their faith in their daily lives. The group was led by Monica White from the West Side Catholic Youth Group, the girls had icebreakers, reflection, faith sharing time and finished with a panel of upperclassmen about how to succeed as they continue their Seton journey.
Sophomores had a focus on Service and growth. They did a Service project with Madi Eftink from St. Vincent DePaul, had a meditation regarding growth within the seasons of life and a prayer that resulted in writing a letter about the ways in which they hope to continue to grow in their faith and service. 💚🙌
